Family Losmen
My partner has just returned from an awesome surfing trip to Sumatra Indonesia. The waves were great and the hospitality that he received staying at the Family Losmen was great. Along with his room which was straight out the front of the break at ujung bocur, he got 3 meals a day to keep him recharged while surfing South Sumatra. Many of the other breaks based around the krui surfing area in South Sumatra were easily accessible. Motor bike hire, car rentals and driver were also easy to organize through the family losmen management.
Nice post on the (once was) less known surfing paradise of S Sumatra. I too stayed at Family Losmen. The guys there are tops, the food excellent, and best of all its right on the break. Give Andy’s a big miss. The guy is crazy.

everybody who has been been to south Sumatra says exactly the same thing…hopefully it can remain relatively unspoilt. There is a real balance between keeping “unknown” spots “unknown” and promoting the quiet achievers like family losmen. Hopefully we can all get it right
