Surfing South Sumatra

South Sumatra  is an awesome spot for a surf trip. There are waves at North and South Sumatra for everyone.  One of the best spots at South Sumatra is Krui where the break goes for around 200 metres with many sections.

Travelling to South Sumatra involves a 6 hour overland drive but places to stay like Family Losmen can organise a comfortable air conditioned car to pick you up from Sumatra’s main airport.

My partner has just returned from an awesome surfing trip to Sumatra Indonesia. The waves were great and the hospitality that he received staying at the Family Losmen was great. Along with his room which was straight out the front of the break at ujung bocur, he got 3 meals a day to keep him recharged while surfing South Sumatra. Many of the other breaks based around the krui surfing area in South Sumatra were easily accessible. Motor bike hire, car rentals and driver were also easy to organize through the family losmen management.
